The beaches were improved and enlarged recently, by dredging up more sand from Poole Harbour and the Isle of Wight - this means that the beach is now the biggest and widest it has been for about 60 years.

This eastern area of Bournemouth is known as East Cliff. The most popular attractions here include the the East Cliff Railway which carries weary beach goers 170 feet back up the hill to their hotels. You can also find the Russell Coates Art Gallery here. MORE...
